TRELOCK Energy Efficiency Classes for LED Technology

New from TRELOCK: The energy efficiency classes E, E+, E++ for battery/rechargeable battery-powered head lights by TRELOCK. With these new energy efficiency classes TRELOCK in a pioneer role presents an objective reference value at a glance to cyclists.

When at a specialist dealer, this helps you to find just the TRELOCK head light that meets exactly your individual requirements to range of vision, visibility, light endurance and ecology.

Choose the efficiency according to the TRELOCK energy efficiency classes from the TRELOCK range of the battery/rechargeable battery-powered bicycle head lights:

  • E++    Highest efficiency
  • E+      Very high efficiency
  • E         High efficiency
             of light output and illumination time in relation to the
             energy input

The TRELOCK energy efficiency describes, based on a defined energy input, the output of luminosity (lumen) and light endurance (time) of the respective battery/rechargeable battery-powered light system by TRELOCK - considering all technologies of the bicycle illumination system (reflector or lens, high-output LED, electronics as well as the energy source) that are perfectly synchronised with each other. The following formula is the base for the calculation of the energy efficiency: lumen (lm) x time (t) / watt second (ws).

What triggered off the development of the energy efficiency classes by TRELOCK?

Energy efficiency is no future-oriented issue but a task of the present. Within the scope of the rapid development of LED technology there will always be new possibilities to improve the efficient energy consumption and therefore a continuous increase of lighting output and light endurance. TRELOCK focuses more than ever on performance and ecology aspects during the development phase.

With these energy efficiency classes defined by TRELOCK, the quality of all components of the battery/rechargeable battery-powered bicycle illumination system is considered - in particular in the efficient interaction of the individual technologies.
