The Trelock engineers rely on higher output and a streamlined, harmonious design for their front lights. The double-lens technology allows the Münster-based company to get a rich 100 lux illumination level out of the compact 45 mm housing of its new “Airflow 100” front light, which is designed specifically for e-bikes. What’s more, the new Trelock daytime riding light is one of the first of its kind to be given its very own approval under the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations, and sensors automatically turn it into a night light. Two windows in the housing increase lateral visibility, while a smaller reflector makes for a more streamlined silhouette.
The Airflow also comes in a 70 lux variant for use as dynamo-powered lighting.
The cyclist chooses from five different modes that can be conveniently selected using the generous Full Control LCD display – level 1 for a well-lit street or level 5 for optimal illumination out in the country. Depending on the lighting level selected, the battery offers an illumination time of up to 9 hours, while the display shows the cyclist how much time remains for that particular power level. Thanks to the Level function with integrated sensor, the cyclist can adjust the StVZO-certified front light
to a dazzle-free angle and monitor it on the display. This is especially valuable in cities, where a precisely angled beam of light prevents oncoming cars, bikes, and pedestrians from being blinded. And to top it all off in terms of safety, TRELOCK has also integrated lateral lighting, while the battery’s power bank mode ensures that smartphones and other devices don’t run out of power on the road. When the nighttime ride is at an end, the high-quality lithium-ion battery can be recharged via a USB interface.
The new front light is made in Münster and will be launched at the end of April, including as a set with a rear light.
